Cataloguing
In 2005 and 2006, in the framework of the Rehabilitation Project of the National Library, around 4000 books and 1000 periodical titles of the former collection of the LNL have been catalogued. Priority was given to the works published in Lebanon as well as to rare and valuable books and periodicals.

Resumed in July 2009 as part of the Revival Project of the LNL after a two-year hiatus, the cataloguing continues today with a new team of eight librarians and an assistant librarian.

Currently, the team is dedicated to the cataloguing of books only. For the cataloguing policy, please consult the page Collection/Cataloguing.

Priority is now given to the newly-received donations.

These new entries are completed with the cataloguing of works of the former Library collection (same title, same author...), which allows a systematic progress in the cataloguing of old documents.
