Training
At the Cataloguing Department:
  • June 2010: training on the French analytical cataloguing (RAMEAU) at the IFPO (Institut Français du Proche Orient) in Damascus given by the French National Library.
  • October 2010 – December 2011: in-service training on Syriac language and script given by Professor Robert Gabriel from the Association of the Friends of the Syriac Language in Beirut.
  • February 2011 - ...: expertise of Mr. Ahmad Taleb (librarian at the Lebanese American University) in cataloguing.
At the Restoration Department:
  • May 2006: training on paper conservation and restoration techniques, and binding, at the Center of Book Preservation in Arles.
  • The team receives an ongoing in-service training provided by the department's technical director.


Continuing training
  • From April 26 to 28, 2012
The cataloguing and collection development team of the Revival Project of the Lebanese National Library attended the 2012 annual conference of the Lebanese Library Association, entitled: "The Changing Face of Libraries: Inspiration, Transformation, Innovation", held at the Bristol Hotel, on April 26, 27, and 28, 2012.

The sessions focused on the following topics: "Convergence of Libraries and IT"; "Education, Literacy and Libraries"; "Changing role of Librarians (curriculum, collection development, print vs. electronic resources)"; "Digitization of the Arab Heritage"; "E-publishing (open access, e-books, e-journals, repositories, research portals) in the Arab World".
