ISBN and ISSN
The ISBN
(International Standard Book Number) is a unique code that identifies each published book. The ISBN is assigned by the Ministry of Culture. This service was introduced to Lebanon in 1999 with the signing of a contract between the Ministry and the International ISBN Agency in Berlin. For more information on the ISBN and the way to obtain it, visit the corresponding page on the Ministry of Culture's website. The ISSN (International Standard Serial Number) is a unique 8-digit code that identifies a serial publication, regardless of media and frequency of issuance. A project for its implementation in Lebanon is being considered. |
